The
Boats
We
use only the best fly fishing equipment
As
anyone who knows anything about flyfishing will tell you, using quality equipment
when flyfishing for powerful saltwater fish species like stripers, bluefish and
tuna makes a huge difference between having a quality flyfishing experience and
a frustrating one. As well, getting to and fishing the waters where the big ones
are requires a capable, safe boat. |

Parker
23' Center Console |
Duncan
Barnes, former Editor-in-chief of Field & Stream magazine, calls the
Parker 23SE his "perfect boat" for Northeast light tackle and fly fishing.
For more details see Barnes' article in the Jan/Feb 2001 edition of Fly Fishing
in Saltwaters magazine.

I
fish a 23' Parker Center Console Special Edition that has been fully customized
for the unique needs of the Northeast saltwater flyfishing and light tackle angler.
I run a new Yamaha 225 hp four-stroke saltwater series engine on my boat. The Parker
can fish water as shallow as a foot deep as well as keeping you dry and comfortable
in the "Big Water" of Montauk during the fall months. The Montauk Point fishery
can really turn on in the fall but the weather can be nasty. The Parker can handle
these waters as well as any boat in this size catagory. (I always carry foul weather
gear for guests.) A great feature of this Parker boat is its roominess. With a
8' 6" beam and a no clutter, no snag deck I can comfortably fish up to four anglers.
As
well, last year I added an 18' Hewes Bayfisher flats boat to fish the skinny water
surrounding Gardiners Island. It's perfect for quietly getting into the shallows
during spring and early summer sight casting to stripers and blue fish.
I'm
planning some off shore trips when the skipjack and yellow fin tuna show during
mid summer so you really ought to make time to fish these hard fighting fish by
keeping
in touch with me or making a reservation now. Call me for more details on this exciting fishing. |

Bring
your own gear or use mine. I am currently fishing Scott STS, Reddington DFR's,
Sage RPLX-I's and Loomis GLX's in weights 8 through 11 matched to either Super
Abels, Tibors, or Pate reels. I carry everything you'll need from tippet material
to all patterns of flies to complete sets of foul weather gear. I provide all
flies, tippet and leaders, if necessary. |
